  • 1950

    The Techint Group initiates the production of steel structures and heavy machinery parts in Buenos Aires in order to support its construction and industrial ventures.

    1988

    Acquisition Pomini, the market leader in grinders.

    1994

    The Intersteel Technology, U.S. company that invented the technology CONSTEEL, joined the Techint Group.

    1996

    Acquisition of three divisions of Italimpianti comprising reheating and heat treatment furnaces, the strip processing lines and material handling systems. The acquisition of Italimpianti also marks the entry of IT Deutschland subsidiaries and Tagliaferri, a company of electric furnace.

    1997

    The Techint Group creates business area Techint Technologies, specializes in steel production systems.

    2000

    Köster, a German company specializing in advanced technologies related to oxygen and fuel injection systems of solid material for electric arc furnaces, joins Techint Technologies.

    2001

    The new technology WSC for vacuum degassing is acquired.

    2005

    Techint Goodfellow Technologies Acquires Canadian Efsop, a known process control system, a world leader in the supply of gas-based direct reduction plants, and Presind, Italy, expert in automation and control for strip processing lines . Some joint ventures were also performed as Techint SEMF in Australia to operate handling equipment and systems, and TIMEC in China, a factory that serves Tenova well as other clients active in metals and other industries.

    2006

    Techint Technologies is renamed Tenova to reaffirm an identity independent and strong market.

    With the acquisition of LOI Thermprocess a German supplier of high quality industrial furnaces for the steel and aluminum industry, Tenova becomes a world leader in the manufacture of ovens. Acquiring Solutions Key Austria, a major player in acid regeneration plants, provides improvements to pickling lines of Tenova.

    The Tenova also form a new joint venture, Tenova Hypertherm, with an engineering company dedicated to Indian business processing furnaces for reheating and hot strip, and acquires Pyromet, leader in South Africa in submerged arc furnaces for ferroalloy production.

    In the same year, the TIMEC, based in China, began producing equipment for the mining industry and metallurgy.

    2007

    The Tenova acquires German TAKRAF, world leader in the production of mining equipment and systems complementing and strengthening the business of handling bulk materials of Tenova.

    2008

    Core Furnace Systems, a leader in the North American market for industrial furnaces and electric melting / refining furnaces, joins the network.

    2009

    Strategic acquisitions of other companies and Tenova still join the group as Multiform, the third largest Indian supplier specializing in cold rolling mills and strip processing lines, and I2S, an American company that designs and manufactures cold rolling mills.

    Stock option shell game investigated

    Fallout over the way stock options were handed out to some electronics industry managers reached new heights recently, with the news that Vitesse Semiconductor Corp. was being investigated by both the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the U.S. Attorney's Office. Vitesse—which earlier dismissed its CEO and two lieutenants—could be delisted from the Nasdaq exchange as an indirect consequence of internal investigations into the options issue.
    Two other prominent technology companies, Altera and Brooks Automation, also face the prospect of delisting.

    In order to sell products and services, they need for people to try their products or services, so they have coupons or promotions, or whatever scheme to entice people to try their products.
    the problem is that manufactures of quality products are competing with manufacturers of crap.
    crap can be made by huge multinational companies for very little money. most of the expense of crap manufacturers is marketing, the base materials cost almost nothing, and they have heavy automation so they have less hours of labor per load of products.
    good stuff is made by smaller companies in smaller batches where the cost of food, labor and packaging is most of the expense
