Partner 7: Computed Tomographic Imaging GmbH (CT Imaging)

Partner Info:
CT Imaging GmbH specializes in the development and implementation of software and hardware solutions for medical imaging and image processing. The main focus of the company is the development and manufacturing of high resolution CT (computed tomography) systems (Micro-CT) as well as their application in the areas of medical, scientific and industrial research. Partnerships and the cooperation with manufacturers of other imaging modalities (e.g. PET, MRI and optical tomography) allow for the smooth and beneficial registration with the computed tomography data, thus ensuring a multimodal overall image.
CT Imaging was originally founded in 1997 as VAMP Verfahren und Apparate der Medizinischen Physik GmbH by Prof. Dr. Dr. Willi A. Kalender as a spin-off from the Institute of Medical Physics (IMP) as of the University Erlangen-Nuremberg. Following the spin-off of CAS innovations AG (focusing on computer-assisted surgery systems), VAMP has specialized in microcomputed tomography and successfully established its TomoScope® device series in the market. In consideration of the international business focus, the company decided to change its name to CT Imaging GmbH in 2009, better reflecting the future direction and its establishment as CT technology solutions provider.
